Dry July raises $12,949 for Regional Cancer and Palliative Care Services

Geraldton staff get into the spirit of Dry July

Eighty four Geraldton people who said no to alcohol and took part in Dry July have raised $12,949 for the hospital’s cancer centre and the palliative care community patient service.

Donations will continue to come in until the end of August so the final total will be even more.

Geraldton Hospital’s Coordinator Surgical and Ambulatory Care Services Sue Hogan said that the WA Country Health Service—Midwest were delighted that they had been supported by Dry July and were very grateful to the people who took part.

“We would like to thank all the people in the community and in the hospital who supported the campaign by going alcohol free for July,” Sue said.

“The amazing amount of money raised will help us to provide care closer to home for the Geraldton and Midwest Community.

“It is such a great cause and the money they have raised will really make a difference in the Midwest.”
