The shape of things to come in Harvey

Steel framework takes shape at Harvey Health Service

The redevelopment of Harvey Health Service is progressing well with the new steel frame taking shape.

WA Country Health Service South West Regional Director Kerry Winsor said she was delighted with how the site was transforming.

“Concrete was poured in December and the scale of the redevelopment is becoming more visible as the steel frame is constructed,” she said.

“When completed, the extended range of services will include a new emergency department and treatment room, improved facilities for community based health services and improved outpatient facilities."

The $13 million investment will improve working conditions for staff and enhance the delivery of health care to the local community bringing together a wide range of services on a single site.

The redevelopment is an integral part of the State Government's $7 billion investment in building, expanding and refurbishing hospitals across regional and metropolitan Western Australia.

By combining state-of-the-art facilities with the latest advances in healthcare, the way patients receive care in regional and remote communities is being transformed.

Cockram Construction Ltd is redeveloping the key areas with completion on track for 2017.
