A “SMaRT1E” program for people with Type 1 Diabetes


Do you have Type 1 Diabetes and would like to eat normal foods just like everyone else without causing too much of a rise in your sugar levels?

SMaRT1E is a specialised diabetes education program available in Bunbury delivered by a trained Diabetes Educator and Dietician.

This unique 4 week education program is designed to teach you to count carbohydrates while adjusting your insulin doses to match what’s on your plate. 

Coming to a Smartie program you will learn practical skills you may find helpful in managing your diabetes when exercising or dealing with other problems such as illness and stress.

Most day to day decisions about your health are made by you the person with diabetes so understanding more ways to control sugar levels will keep you in charge of your health.

If you need a refresher or some useful tips on managing your Type 1 Diabetes then this program maybe just what you need.

If you would like to bring your partner, a family member or a friend with you to the course – they will be very welcome.

Attending a SMaRT1E program is a great way to be able to meet and talk to others in the same situation.   A recent participant stated “I now feel less restricted when I go out to eat and enjoy choosing from the entire menu”.
