Completed project - Newman Health Service
Project overview
The $61.4 million redevelopment project, which includes a $15 million contribution from BHP Iron Ore (BHP), will provide Newman and the surrounding communities with a modern, fit-for-purpose facility delivering care closer to home and on Country.
When complete, the a new facility will include:
- twelve inpatient beds
- six emergency department bays
- two dental chairs
- six GP consult spaces
- dedicated rooms for outpatient consults, therapy, medical imaging and pathology.
The redevelopment will also facilitate access to Telehealth services and videoconferencing technology to connect staff and patients to specialists across Western Australia.
The first stage of the works is on track to be finalised in the third quarter of 2022, and the subsequent stages expected to be completed and fully operational by mid-2023.
The existing facility will remain operational throughout construction.
