The $37.6 million state-of the-art Warren Health Service in Manjimup was officially opened by the Minister for Health in July 2018. It replaced the former Manjimup Hospital.

The Warren Health Service is one of five district hospitals that received funding for improvements as part of the WA Country Health Service’s $300 million capital works program improving hospital infrastructure in the Wheatbelt, Great Southern, Midwest and South West.

The Warren Health Service delivers 21st century healthcare to residents of Manjimup and the surrounding districts. Emergency, inpatient and outpatient services have been brought together with other important health services in modern, light-filled buildings under one roof.

Facilities include:

  • an expanded area for outpatient appointments
  • a new emergency department with well-equipped resuscitation rooms
  • a new ward area
  • upgraded medical imaging
  • a family focused birthing suite with a purpose-built bath which enables immersion in water for pain relief during labour
  • a modern, well-equipped operating theatre
  • a mental health consultation room
  • improved technology support for clinicians and patients
  • a minor procedure room to improve the management of trauma and other emergencies
  • consultation rooms for visiting specialists and community mental health
  • a thoughtfully designed palliative care room to accommodate the needs of patients and their families in a home-like environment.
