The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) is committed to ensuring people with disability, their families and carers are not discriminated against in any way.

 WACHS Disability Access and Inclusion Plan

WACHS has developed a Disability Access and Inclusion Plan 2015 - 2020 in consultation with our consumers, staff and key stakeholders to provide strategies for WA country health services to support increased independence, opportunities and inclusion for people with disability.

The plan will help ensure that people with disability in Western Australia:

  • Have the same opportunities as other people to access our services, and any events we organise
  • Have the same opportunities as other people to access our buildings and other facilities
  • Receive information from us in a format that will enable them to access it as readily as other people are able to access it
  • Receive the same level and quality of service from the our staff
  • Have the same opportunities as other people to make complaints
  • Have the same opportunities as other people to participate in any public consultation by WACHS, and
  • Have the same access as other people to obtain and maintain employment within WACHS.

Each of the seven WACHS Regions has a Disability Access & Inclusion Committee who will oversee the implementation of the WACHS DAIP in each WACHS region.
