Project - Geraldton Health Campus

The Geraldton Health Campus will be redeveloped to provide Midwest residents with safe and efficient care closer to home.

Project - Geraldton Health Campus

Geraldton Health Campus Redvelopment
Project overview

The $122.7 million redevelopment of the Geraldton Health Campus will take place in stages.

Works include:

  • an expanded emergency department
  • a new intensive care unit co-located with a redeveloped high dependency unit
  • a new integrated mental health service inclusive of an adult mental health inpatient unit and a mental health short stay unit
  • a reconfigured main entry
  • essential engineering service upgrades including the replacement of the chillers
  • the redesign and expansion of car parking.

A community reference group with local consumers, staff and representatives from local organisations helped inform the architectural drawings. The group also shaped cultural recognition of the traditional land owners and representation of regionally significant landmarks and industries in the new facility.

The redevelopment will be implemented in stages to ensure minimal disruption to patients, staff and the community.

The expanded emergency department and integrated mental health work are expected to be completed in 2023, with the balance of works in intensive care and expanded high dependency expected to be completed in 2024.
