Breaking new ground | Construction underway to redevelop Geraldton Health Campus

Main works on the $166.1 million Geraldton Health Campus redevelopment are officially underway.
Premier Roger Cook, Health Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson and representatives from Multiplex joined WA Country Health Service Chief Executive Jeff Moffet to break ground on the project.
The redevelopment will deliver an expanded emergency department, a new intensive care unit co-located with an improved high dependency unit, and an integrated mental health service, including an adult mental health inpatient unit and a mental health short stay unit.
It will bring together the latest in healthcare technology, infrastructure, and patient-centred design to enhance patients’ healthcare experience.
Construction is being undertaken by managing contractor Multiplex and is estimated to employ more than 800 workers across the life of the project.
The project aims to create opportunities for Aboriginal businesses through a range of subcontracts.
Forward works to prepare the site for redevelopment have been completed including an additional 400 car bays, reconfiguration of the main entrance and a new ambulance entry.
The redevelopment is designed to give Midwest patients access to the highest quality health care for years to come.
