Geraldton Health Campus redevelopment takes shape

The Geraldton Health Campus redevelopment is taking shape with earthworks nearing completion, and the first concrete footings poured as part of a $166 million investment to futureproof healthcare in the Midwest.
Almost 70 tonnes of steel will go into the footings in the coming months, with over 500 cubic metres of concrete being poured.
The redevelopment is the single largest investment in the Geraldton Health Campus and is expanding the existing hospital footprint by over 7,000 square metres.
The project is creating opportunities for local and Aboriginal suppliers, with Aboriginal businesses engaged to deliver traffic management and cleaning services. Local companies have also been contracted to deliver earthworks, surveying, and traffic management.
The latest work forms part of the upgrades that have already delivered an additional 400 car bays, a reconfigured main entry and a new ambulance entry.
Once complete, the redevelopment will deliver an expanded emergency department, a new intensive care unit and high dependency unit, as well as an integrated mental health service, including an adult mental health inpatient unit and a mental health short stay unit.
