Works begin for redevelopment of Geraldton Health Campus
Fences are set to go up at 7am on Friday 3 July at the staff carpark of the Geraldton Health Campus, signalling the commencement of the forward works for the $73.3 million redevelopment of the facility.
Patients and visitors can continue to access parking on site via the Shenton Street entry.
The forward works, delivered by ADCO Constructions Pty Ltd, include an ambulance entry on Shenton Street, reconfiguration of the main entry to the health campus, a new carpark close to the main entry, and a southern carpark and access road from Onslow Street.
WA Country Health Service Regional Director Jeff Calver said the car park works will be completed in about four months.
“We have endeavoured to minimise any inconvenience works at the facility may cause patients and visitors,” Mr Calver said.
“Please follow all temporary signage and wayfinding instructions and we will keep you informed as works progress.
“Delivering a huge infrastructure project such as the redevelopment of the Geraldton Health Campus involves a lot of traffic redirection to ensure works can go on as smoothly as possible.
“We have sought to accommodate the needs of patients, visitors and staff during the works and we seek the community’s understanding and patience during this temporary inconvenience.”
When complete, the new parking spaces will hold approximately 470 bays, with the additional car parks catering to the increased capacity expected when the new facility is operational.
The new car parks will also feature additional disabled parking with improved walkways, landscaping and improved lighting.
