Builder chosen for Williams Health Centre
Pindan Contracting Pty Ltd has won the contract to redevelop the Williams Health Centre as part of an extensive capital works program taking place under the Southern Inland Health Initiative.
WA Country Health Service Wheatbelt Regional Director Sean Conlan said the redevelopment would deliver important improvements for the local community.
“We are committed to ensuring our country hospitals and health centres continue to be equipped to deliver health care locally into the future,” he said.
“As part of the redevelopment Williams Health Centre will receive a new building, including entry, reception and waiting room, a new emergency treatment bay and three consultation rooms.”
The new building will also include a new ambulance set down area, a meeting room, staff offices and workstations, store rooms, and new toilets including one with disabled access.
The Southern Inland Health Initiative’s $300 million capital works program is more extensive and complex than any project previously undertaken by the WA Country Health Service, with new builds and upgrades to 37 hospitals and health services in the Wheatbelt, South West, Great Southern and Midwest.
The redevelopment of the Williams Health Centre is due to start in August and take about a year to complete.
