New section of ED open at Collie Health Service
The redevelopment of the emergency department at the Collie Health Service is now complete.
Staff will transition into the new part of the emergency department on Tuesday 11 July 2017.
WA Country Health Service South West Regional Director Kerry Winsor said that there would be no change to the entrance or parking at the hospital and that the local community should continue to present to emergency via the main entrance.
“Staff will be particularly busy on Tuesday July 11 as they transition into the new section of the ED and familiarise themselves with the facilities,” Ms Winsor said.
“For patients presenting to ED with non-urgent medical issues, longer than usual waiting times may be experienced.
“We thank the local community in advance for their patience and understanding on this day.”
The $7.8 million Collie Health Service redevelopment is part of the Southern Inland Health Initiative. The Southern Inland Health Initiative’s capital works program is more extensive and complex than any project previously undertaken by the WA Country Health Service, with new builds and upgrades to 37 hospitals and health services in the Wheatbelt, South West, Great Southern and Midwest.
