The refurbishment of the Dalwallinu Health Service is taking shape with the first two stages now complete.
Wheatbelt Regional Director Sean Conlan said construction started at the beginning of this year and is progressing according to plan.
“The second stage of the refurbishment included a new waiting room, a triage room, multipurpose consultation room and a new communications rooms,” Mr Conlan said.
“The communications room accommodates increased technology, including wireless data and an upgraded phone system.”
In the first stage of the refurbishment the emergency department received a new x-ray room, shower and toilet.
In the final stage of the refurbishment, upgrades will be made to the kitchen, child health consultation room, patient bathrooms and staff workplaces.
The redevelopment is part of the Southern Inland Health Initiative’s $300 million capital works program to improve capital infrastructure in 37 towns across the Wheatbelt, Great Southern, Midwest and South West regions.
