Over the past four years more than 250 stories about people’s experiences at Bunbury Hospital have been shared on the patient feedback website, Care Opinion. These stories have been submitted by people who have received healthcare or had a loved one receiving care at the hospital and wanted to share their praise or suggestions to improve the healthcare experience.

The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) has been overwhelmed by the support and praise the local community has shown for its Bunbury staff. Each Care Opinion story has meant something – many have lifted staff’s spirits and a number have been the catalyst for positive change. People in the community have taken the time to share their experience, and WACHS has taken the time to let them know what their words have meant.

There are many stories on the feedback platform praising a range of Bunbury Hospital staff – from locals in their 80s who felt consulted and cared for at every step, to overseas visitors writing that they couldn’t imagine receiving better treatment anywhere else in the world.

Here are just a few:

  • At all times I felt cared for
  • Excellent patient care
  • My experience and treatment at Bunbury
  • Maternity experience at Bunbury Regional Hospital
  • Delayed premature labour at Bunbury Regional Hospital

In 2019, Bunbury Hospital reinvigorated its antenatal classes with the introduction of hypnotherapy as part of a complementary therapy education program.

This evidenced-based program is aimed at providing women and their support team with information, strategies and support in preparation for their pregnancy and birth journey.

Early evaluation of the program demonstrated a reduction in birth interventions and improved patient satisfaction in those women who attended the classes.

Since 2019, WACHS has received more than 80 positive birth stories via Care Opinion including:

  • Hypnobirth, MGP and Birth Experience
  • Hypnobirth
  • Bunbury Hospital Antenatal Classes
  • Positive birth program during COVID-19
  • Giving Birth
  • Hypnobirthing classes
  • Hypnobirthing course online
  • Positive Birth Program
  • Birthing Experience
  • Hypnobirthing Bunbury
  • Hypnobirth Kasey classes

The praise for Bunbury Hospital staff evidences their commitment to high-quality, patient centred care and WACHS thanks those in country WA who have shared their valued feedback.
