We’re continuing to put patient care at the forefront of all that we do at Bunbury Regional Hospital with the introduction of our own 24/7 specialist patient flow hub, BIONIC.

BIONIC utilises the latest in technology and alongside specialist teams, help us manage the patient journey and care experience in a more streamlined and coordinated way.

Director Bunbury Regional Hospital Jeff Calver recently hosted Department of Health Director General, Dr DJ Russell-Weisz, WA Country Health Service (WACHS) Board Chair, Dr Neale Fong and WACHS Chief Executive, Jeff Moffet (pictured) as they met with BIONIC staff to see this innovative service in action.

“The Bunbury Executive team worked with hospital staff to develop the idea of having a type of command centre where all patient flow activity could be centrally coordinated,” Mr Calver said.

“By creating a more efficient and streamlined process, our clinicians have less phone calls, running around and paperwork to do, giving them more time to care for our patients,” he said.

“BIONIC is a great example of how we utilise innovation and technology to support the delivery of high quality care in the South West,” Mr Calver added.
