A year in review
The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) has a workforce of thousands of dedicated people who deliver healthcare every hour of every day.
Their passion and commitment to country communities is our greatest strength.
This year has been a challenging one, but together, we have achieved so much.
In 2021, we recruited more than 100 doctors and almost 1,000 nurses.
We invested almost half a billion dollars upgrading country hospitals and health services.
We supported 2,500 births and cared for more than 3,000 aged care clients.
We performed nearly 100,000 inpatient procedures and 25,000 elective surgeries.
We administered more than 250,000 COVID-19 vaccinations.
We responded to almost 400,000 emergency department presentations.
It was our staff that made all of this possible and we thank each and every one of them for their dedication and commitment to the communities they serve.
