Karratha Health Campus patients have praised local healthcare staff for their dedicated efforts to go above and beyond in their care.

Taking their praise to the Care Opinion platform, two patients have shared how their experience in hospital was stress-free and positive thanks to staff at every level.

A fly-in, fly-out (FIFO) worker said he continually returned to the Karratha Health Campus for his regular treatment of Crohn’s disease – all because of the local staff.

“I have never had such caring and all-round good times coming into a hospital as I did in Karratha,” he said.

“(As a FIFO worker) it’s very hard to get appointments lined up and very stressful at times but I could ring the girls up and let them know what’s going on and they would go above and beyond sorting out anything I needed.

“I would ring them instead of another hospital… I feel you just don’t find nurses like them every day.”

This recognition of dedication to their patients is not a one off for Karratha staff, with another patient sharing similar sentiments about the exceptional Karratha team when she attended hospital for surgery.

“Every staff member, from reception through to the surgical staff was exceptionally kind, empathetic, positive, reassuring and professional,” she said.

“I felt as at ease as I could have done and I am so grateful to them for making a situation where I was very uncomfortable the most positive it could have been.”

Acting Pilbara Regional Director Alistair Pinto said Karratha was home to extraordinary and passionate staff, eager to help their community be strong and healthy.

“It goes without saying that we are all extremely proud and thankful of everything our front-line staff do on a daily basis,” she said.

“To hear our patients are feeling appreciated, cared for and reassured is a testament to how devoted our staff are to every single person who comes through the Karratha Health Campus doors.”
