Merredin residents to benefit from expanded surgical services
The community of Merredin has access to more health services close to home with the addition of colonoscopies and gastroscopies at the local hospital.
The additional services follow a $1.6 million refurbishment of Merredin Health Service’s surgical services unit last year and following a $26.4 million overall redevelopment.
Regional Director Rachele Ferrari thanked the community for being patient throughout the redevelopment process.
“It was definitely a matter of short-term pain for long-term gain,” she said.
“We now have a modern, fit-for-purpose facility to serve the community of Merredin.
“The addition of colonoscopies and gastroscopies builds on this and is welcome news for the community.”
Merredin residents can begin accessing these services right away.
