Midwest prepares for total solar eclipse
27/03/2023
On Thursday 20 April, most of WA will experience a total or partial solar eclipse.
A total solar eclipse is a rare astronomical event that will bring visitors from around the world to Exmouth and the Gascoyne region between 17 and 23 April 2023.
We want to make sure everyone – locals and visitors – have a great and safe experience.
You can enjoy this once in a lifetime event while protecting your eyes by:
- never looking directly at the sun during an eclipse
- keeping an eye on children and making sure they know the dangers of looking directly at the sun
- if you choose to use solar eclipse glasses, know the risks and take proper precautions.
It important you save visiting the emergency department for emergencies. This will help support our staff in providing care to patients in urgent need.
Remember though, you should always call triple zero (000) in a medical emergency.
