New Albany Community Centre to support Great Southern’s older residents
Albany is now home to a dedicated aged care community centre thanks to a $1 million contribution from the WA Country Health Service.
Officially opened by Premier Mark McGowan and Health Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson, Clarence Estate Community Centre provides a new base for a range of services for older residents in the Great Southern, including nursing, allied health and other therapeutic services.
The new building, while physically located in Albany, will also facilitate a mobile assessment service to communities like Bremer Bay, Kojonup, Ongerup and Walpole.
The $1 million investment forms part of the WACHS commitment to care close to home - regardless of where you’re geographically located - and helps ensure some of the Great Southern’s most vulnerable residents have access to high quality, patient-centered support services.
Clarence Community Centre will be operated by Hall & Prior – an established residential aged care provider in the Great Southern.
