Collie Health Service operating theatre now open
Collie’s brand-new, state-of-the-art $14.7 million operating theatre is now complete and has welcomed its first patients today.
A range of general surgical, obstetric and dental procedures can be performed in the new theatre – delivering on WA Country Health Service’s (WACHS) commitment to ensuring Collie and surrounds have access to high quality healthcare facilities close to home.
WACHS’ Kerry Winsor said it’s exciting to welcome patients back to the upgraded theatre which will help deliver contemporary healthcare.
“The new operating theatre features state-of-the-art technology and amenities and will significantly enhance the experience of patients and staff.
“As well as the new theatre, artwork is also prominently displayed throughout the main entry providing an illuminating feature to reflect healing, recovery and care.”
The theatre waiting room and reception were also upgraded as part of the project with the aim of creating a welcoming, comfortable environment for patients and their loved ones.
A new consult room was also built and telehealth technology installed.
