Teamwork makes the dream work at Kununoppin Health Service
If you are travelling around regional WA the last thing on your mind is getting sick – so knowing you can access great healthcare anytime, anywhere is important.
WA Country Health Service’s Kununoppin Emergency Department (ED) team recently helped holidaymakers get back on the road in no time, after one of the pair of intrepid travellers unexpectedly became unwell on their travels.
The patient took to care opinion to express their gratitude to ED staff involved in their treatment.
“They attended to me straight away, made me feel so well looked after and were so caring.
“Their hard work and dedication didn’t go unnoticed,” the patient said.
Emergency Department Nurse Shannon said the team were thrilled with the feedback received.
“It’s always lovely to receive this wonderful feedback as it shows we as a team are achieving our goal of providing the best care we can,” she said.
Shannon added the diversity of patient care is what is behind the team’s ability to provide great service.
“The Wheatbelt is unique – we can be looking after a 97-year-old resident and a seven-month-old baby at the same time,” she said.
“Providing care to a variety of patients and medical conditions keeps us thinking on our feet and ensures our skills are constantly challenged.”
