WA Country Health Service staff leading the way at annual telehealth conference
We have a long history in telehealth, in Emergency Telehealth with our award-winning Command Centre, and now increasingly across admitted and non-admitted settings.
Thanks to the innovation and dedication of our workforce we have positioned ourselves as a national leader in the virtual healthcare space.
Recently, six of our staff presented abstracts at the 2023 Successes and Failures in Telehealth Conference.
The conference aims to highlight successes and challenges across Australia in virtual healthcare and brings together clinicians, researchers, policy makers, educators, industry leaders, software and hardware vendors, managers, and consumers – creating the perfect forum for networking and collaboration.
Manager Clinical Telehealth Development Outpatient Reform and Access Kate Hawkings said feedback for our presentations was outstanding.
“We’ve had feedback that our colleagues delivered highly polished presentations,” said Kate.
“Additionally, the Best Paper: Category Case Study and Clinical Reports was awarded to Building a sustainable, virtual Heart Health Support Service in country Western Australia, presented by Nicole Jeffree and co-authored with others in the Clinical Telehealth Development team.
“An award that WACHS has now taken out three years running.”
Nicole said the award was a win for WA Country Health Service and our communities.
“It acknowledges our role in continuing to lead telehealth service development and redesign, which in turn means our communities have the opportunity to access quality healthcare closer to home,” Nicole said.
Well done and thank you to all our presenters and teams for continuing to advance health outcomes in our communities through innovation in virtual care:
