Broome Regional Hospital delivers outstanding care
As a hospital wellbeing volunteer, Dr Mark Copland knows the importance of compassion and teamwork – something he says the team at Broome Regional Hospital have in bucket loads.
In the lead up to Christmas, Mark found himself on the other side, as a patient.
Overwhelmed with the high-quality care the local team provided, Mark felt compelled to reach out and let us know all about his experience.
“From the cleaners to reception to nurses and surgeons, there was a consistent level of care and compassion towards every patient,” Mark told us.
“They went over and above to ensure that I was comfortable and able to speak up if I had any concerns.”
With a love for Broome, Mark believes that the type of care offered at country hospitals is due, in part, to the strong sense of community across regional WA.
“I loved being able to see all the different disciplines interact with one another, it really is a team effort,” he said
“Working in rural towns or in remote communities you must be adaptable, and our regional healthcare teams show that as they work together to deliver the best possible care.
“You can see every staff member is genuinely happy to be doing their job, caring for the Broome community,” he added.
