WA Country Health Service to deliver care in Walpole
From 4 April, WA Country Health Service will take over management and service delivery of the Walpole Health Centre, currently operated by Silverchain.
There will be no impact to services and the community can continue to access care as normal.
Executive Director Strategy and Change Melissa Vernon said WA Country Health Service is well positioned to deliver safe, patient-centred care to the Walpole community.
“We have a long and proud history of delivering healthcare to WA’s rural and remote communities and we’re excited to continue this in Walpole,” Ms Vernon said.
As well as staff on-the-ground in Walpole, sites will receive additional support from WA Country Health Service’s Command Centre. Our Emergency Telehealth System, a virtual care service giving residents access to emergency medicine specialists, will be installed within the month following transition.
“Walpole will have access to exceptional on-the-ground care thanks to some amazing frontline health professionals. Our teams will be further supported by 24/7 specialist emergency and mental health support, plus a range of other services and specialties available through our Command Centre,” she said.
Ms Vernon said WA Country Health Service is firmly focussed on delivering safe and responsive care.
“We extend our thanks to the Silverchain team and recognise the important contributions they have made in Walpole.”
The phone number for the service will remain the same. To contact Walpole Health Centre, please call (08) 9840 0900.
