Dr Lila Stephens nominated for Clinical Leader of the Year
Bunbury Regional Hospital Head of Department Paediatrics Dr Lila Stephens is a finalist for Clinical Leader of the Year at the WA Rural Health Excellence Awards.
Alongside WA Country Health Service’s amazing team in Bunbury, Dr Stephens is supporting families across the South West to access close-to-home paediatric care.
Dr Stephens said she feels fortunate to work in regional communities, where you can make a genuine difference and recommends it to anyone thinking of making the metro-country switch.
“I sincerely feel I have the best job in the world,” Dr Stephens said.
“I’m extraordinarily grateful to have this role and do the best I can to establish an integrated child health model that considers a range of societal factors.
“I feel medicine in country WA is very interesting, the lifestyle is superior, the people are friendlier, and the commitment to improve the breadth of services is palpable. I’d recommend it to anyone.
“When I look back to 2014 and see what our team is doing now, I can only be grateful for the open ears of people at WACHS and the amazing dedication of our team,” she said.
Congratulations to Dr Lila Stephens, the entire South West Paediatric team and all our finalists.
The awards will be announced at a ceremony Saturday 16 March 2024.
