Early career nurse Phoebe Riches already looking to the future
WA Country Health Service (WACHS) Enrolled Nurse Phoebe Riches is paving the way to a successful nursing career, being named as a finalist in the 2024 Rural Health Excellence Awards.
Phoebe has worked at Bunbury Regional Hospital since September 2022 when she started her graduate program and said she was grateful to work in such a supportive environment.
“I’m very thankful – I have developed so many new skills,” Phoebe said.
“The nomination gives me a new sense of pride in being an employee at WA Country Health Service.”
Phoebe also acknowledged the staff in Bunbury who have been involved in teaching and supporting her throughout her first year with us.
Keen to keep the momentum and further her professional development, Phoebe is now enrolled in registered nursing units and is interested in helping others as they start their nursing journey.
“I’m very excited to finish my conversion into a registered nurse and assist in the teaching of new nurses stepping into their first nursing role with WA Country Health Service,” she said.
Congratulations Phoebe. We are looking forward to seeing where your career takes you.
The awards will be announced at a ceremony Saturday 16 March 2024.
