Felicity Jones named as finalist in Excellence Awards

Bunbury Regional Hospital Stomal Therapist Felicity Jones is all about championing stomal and wound care in regional Western Australia.

Her work across the South West has seen her nominated as finalist in the 2024 WA Nursing and Excellence Awards.

Felicity said this nomination means further education on stoma and wound management.

“It raises awareness for the people I see every day,” Felicity said.

“Hearing comments like ‘you’ve made me feel better about my stoma’ fill my heart.”

Felicity’s farming roots is what cemented her love for working in rural health services.

“Coming from a small community, it’s wonderful to see the difference nurses make across our state,” she added.

“I’m passionate about keeping patients close to home – surrounded by family, friends and their community.

“Working in the country fills me with joy and changed my life.”
