Celebrating country allied health professionals
Today is Allied Health Professions Day, an opportunity to celebrate the impact allied health professionals have on the health and wellbeing of the country communities we care for.
Covering a wide range of specialities, thousands of Western Australians living in the country will use allied health services every year.
From helping patients recover from an injury or surgery to supporting mental health, allied health professionals provide a broad range of health services. Their work is important to supporting the overall health and wellbeing of patients and the community.
Allied health professionals include audiologists, physiotherapists, social workers, podiatrists, optometrists, psychologists, dietitians, occupational therapists and more.
WA Country Health Service Directors of Allied Health Suzanne Spitz and Anna McDonald celebrated the contributions allied health professionals make to country communities every day.
“We are proud to provide a wide range of allied health services for the communities we serve across country WA,” she said.
“We hear every day about the huge impact our allied health teams have on patients and their families, helping people live full and happy lives across our beautiful state.
“Today is about recognising all allied health professionals and celebrating their contributions to healthy and thriving communities.”
