Congratulations to our WA Health Excellence Award winners
WA Country Health Service had a strong showing at the 2024 WA Health Excellence Awards – winning across five different categories including three in partnership with metropolitan Health Service Providers.
Senior Aboriginal Health Worker Jerry Morrison received the Minister for Health’s Award.
Jerry has worked in the Kimberley for 36 years, caring for generations of patients in that time. He is well known for the way he easily builds rapport and earns trust – all thanks to his professionalism, humour and warm nature.
The Country Patient Health Support (Country PatHS) team was awarded Excellence in Aboriginal Health.
Country PatHS is a journey coordination and support service for vulnerable people from the Kimberley, Pilbara, Midwest and Goldfields who require specialist healthcare in the metro area.
Additionally, three projects that WA Country Health Service is involved in as a partner won in their respective categories.
The WA RSV Infant Immunisation Program was awarded Excellence in Preventative Health. The Emerging Drugs Network of Australia project won for Excellence in Research and Innovation. And the Staff with Disability and Allies Network was awarded Excellence in Workplace Wellbeing and Culture.
Chief Executive Jeff Moffet said the recognition was a real reflection of the outstanding care being delivered right across country WA.
“Awards like this show country health professionals are at the forefront of innovation and excellence across WA Health,” he said.
“Congratulations to our deserving winners and finalists.”
