New Laverton Hospital forward works set to begin ahead of schedule
Important preparatory work for the brand-new Laverton Hospital will begin two months ahead of schedule.
Originally slated for January 2025, the State Government has confirmed that ADCO Constructions will begin early site works later this month.
Forward works – which includes earthworks, a temporary site access road, sewer diversion, water main, design and trenching for electrical upgrade and hoarding – includes all the necessary works to prepare the site for main works.
A total of $28 million has been committed towards the new and improved hospital, which is set to provide modern emergency and contemporary multidisciplinary ambulatory care facilities and outpatient services, including community health, mental health, drug and alcohol services, specialist facilities for visiting clinicians and space for an on-site private GP clinic.
The redevelopment includes a contribution of $16.8 million from the Australian Government’s Community Health and Hospitals Program.
