Construction of the new $4 million Level 2A Special Care Nursery at Albany Health Campus has reached practical completion.
Capacity in the nursery has doubled to four bays to provide greater support for the more than 550 families who welcome newborns at the facility each year.
The new nursery has been completed ahead of schedule with a staged approach to commissioning to minimise any disruption to follow throughout 2024/25.
Importantly, the commitment by the State Government includes an additional six nurses to support in the provision of care. Recruitment will also occur in a staged approach in line with commissioning.
