Finalists announced for 2025 WA Rural Health Awards

Awards lined up with text over the top reading: Congratulations to our finalists
26/11/2024

From a field of more than 130 outstanding nominations, 27 exceptional health professionals and teams have been shortlisted as finalists for the WA Rural Health Excellence Awards 2025.

Hosted by WA Country Health Service and Rural Health West, the annual awards recognise the dedication, compassion, and ingenuity of those who work tirelessly to provide healthcare across rural Western Australia.

Celebrating health professionals who often go above and beyond, the awards spotlight both established leaders and emerging talents who share an unwavering commitment to the communities they serve.

WA Country Health Service Chief Executive Jeff Moffet said it has never been more important to recognise country healthcare workers.

“Healthcare delivery in the bush comes with its own unique set of challenges, often requiring an innovative approach to healthcare delivery,” he said.

“Time and again, country clinicians step up to make sure we’re able to support those living in even the most remote corners of our State.

“And while I’m delighted to see so many WA Country Health Service professionals named as finalists, I’d also like to acknowledge our partner agencies for all that they do to advance health outcomes in rural and remote areas.”

Tim Shackleton, Chief Executive Officer of Rural Health West, praised the diversity of skills represented in this year’s nominations, also highlighting the unique challenges of rural healthcare.

“Rural health clinicians are some of the most talented, dedicated, and highest-quality professionals you can possibly have. Often working in challenging circumstances, they demonstrate incredible ingenuity, and their decision to work rurally speaks volumes about their dedication to their patients and the well-being of the broader community.”

Finalists were selected across nine award categories by a panel of clinicians and representatives from rural health organisations.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony held during the WA Rural Health Conference on Saturday, 22 March 2025.

This year’s awards continue to underscore the resilience, skill, and compassion of rural health professionals, who make a profound difference in the lives of Western Australians.
