WA Country Health Service Disability Access and Inclusion Plan 2024-2027

WA Country Health Service Disability Access and Inclusion Plan 2024-2027

03/12/2024

We are proud to announce the launch of our new Disability Access and Inclusion Plan (DAIP) 2024-2027.

WA Country Health Service Chief Executive Jeff Moffet said the new DAIP reaffirms our commitment to providing inclusive and accessible services for people with disability, their families and carers.

“We want to ensure that people feel supported, respected and empowered to access the care they need, wherever they live in WA,” Mr Moffet said.

“It builds on the progress we’ve already made, and through ongoing consultation with individuals, carers and advocacy groups, we’ve developed a plan that reflects the real needs of our diverse communities.”

The new DAIP focuses on taking practical steps to drive meaningful change. Through the DAIP 2024-2027 we will:

  • Effectively communicate information about the services and support available across WA Country Health Service to people with disability, their families and carers.
  • Provide information to staff who are arranging events that will ensure events are accessible to people with disabilities.
  • Actively encourage the involvement of people with disability and carers in WA Country Health Service committees and advisory groups.
  • Review and enhance recruitment practices to ensure they are inclusive and accessible for people with disability.

More details on how we are providing equity across regional WA through our Disability Access and Inclusion Plan can be found in our Annual Report 2023-2024.
