Graduate Certificate in Health Professions Education: Congratulations to our first cohort
In 2024, WA Country Health Service (WACHS) and the University of Western Australia (UWA) launched a groundbreaking partnership to support education as a speciality pathway for nursing and midwifery.
The first cohort of WACHS Nursing and Midwifery Educators and Staff Development Nurses/Midwives have successfully completed their Graduate Certificate in Health Professions Education.
The program aims to enhance the development of adult education theory, principles of teaching and learning, principles of assessment and evaluation, and understanding clinical teaching and supervision with dedicated support from WACHS’ Nursing and Midwifery Educators.
This achievement was made possible through the collaborative funding of units by WACHS, UWA and partial scholarships from the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Office.
Executive Director Nursing and Midwifery Maria Flynn said these nine clinicians are paving the way for a new era of education in nursing and midwifery.
“We are immensely proud of our first cohort of graduates. Their commitment to advancing their skills in education not only benefits their own professional growth but also strengthens the future of our health services across country WA,” she said.
“Congratulations on this outstanding achievement.”
