New staff housing completed in Halls Creek

Staff at the Halls Creek Health Service have moved into modern, fit-for-purpose accommodation, with construction of 10 new living spaces now complete.
Conveniently located on hospital grounds, the new homes provide staff a comfortable and convenient place to unwind, with easy access to essential local services.
Executive Director WA Country Health Service Kimberley, Lisa Smith, said staff accommodation is an important part of recruitment and quality service delivery to the community.
“Halls Creek offers healthcare professionals a unique opportunity to develop their skills and make a real difference to the community, while experiencing the rich culture and stunning landscapes of the region,” she said.
“Offering safe, high-quality accommodation for short-term rotational is another key step in attracting skilled workers to the East Kimberley.”
The new accommodation includes four two-bedroom and two one-bedroom dwellings, providing housing for up to 10 staff members.
Gemma Deves is a Clinical Nurse staying in the accommodation.
“Upon arrival I felt incredibly welcomed and impressed by the quality of the accommodation provided,” she said.
“Coming home to a modern, comfortable space really makes a difference.”
The accommodation’s construction was led by Modular WA, while transport, installation and site works were completed by Murray River North.
The $4 million investment highlights WA Country Health Service’s dedication to providing attractive living arrangements for its workforce to ultimately enhance healthcare delivery in country Western Australia.
