40 years of milestones: Back to the Future, Live Aid… and Kathy Vellios’ incredible career

40 years ago, Back to the Future hit the cinemas, Freddie Mercury delivered his legendary performance at Live Aid and a young Kathy Vellios walked through the doors of Warren Health Service to begin her extraordinary career.
While the world has changed in countless ways since 1985, one thing has remained – Kathy’s dedication to her role as part of the support services team.
This year, Kathy marked an incredible milestone – 40 years of service at Warren Health Service. In a special celebration attended by colleagues, she was presented with a certificate of appreciation and a 40-year badge in recognition of her outstanding commitment.
Reflecting on her journey, Kathy recalled her early days at the hospital, a time when healthcare looked very different from today. Over the decades, she has been a devoted employee, adapting to change while maintaining her unwavering focus on patient care as a member of the support.
Operations Manager Inland Jeremy Higgins said Kathy emanates a positive, proactive and patient-centred approach and has done so every single day for 40 years with WA Country Health Service (WACHS).
“Kathy is an amazing employee who lives our values day in and day out, and we’re very grateful for her service at Warren Health Service,” he said.
