Country health support worker Paulette brings colour to the workplace and the studio

Award-winning painter, cherished colleague, and proud Port Hedland local: Paulette Jadzinkski is all these things and more.
A long-serving member of WA Country Health Service’s Hedland Health Campus Laundry Team, Paulette has recently been making a name for herself as a portrait artist.
Exploring themes of community, connection and cultural identity, her artwork is both visually captivating and deeply meaningful.
And it’s been recognised in a big way after Paulette scooped the Patron Award at the 2024 Jury Art Prize, billed as WA’s most innovative regional art showcase.
The winning piece — a heartfelt depiction of well-known Port Hedland art identity Valeria Scoponi — was described by judges as “a joyous, candid, and human portrayal of a local by a local”.
The win led to Paulette being featured as Regional Arts WA’s December Artist of the Month.
Her work can also be seen in the Hedland Health Campus laundry, where an evocative piece featuring the entire Laundry Team takes pride of place.
Paulette serves the Pilbara community three days a week, ensuring residents at Kalarra House aged care facility never run out of carefully folded and prepared clothing.
WA Country Health Service Pilbara Executive Director Lisa Barnes said it’s not just Paulette’s paintings bringing colour, warmth and joy to the workplace; her personality has left an indelible mark on all who’ve worked with her.
“Paulette has been a valued member of our team for 12 years now.
“She’s more than just a team member, she is a role model and inspiration to her workmates,” Ms Barnes said.
“We know Paulette’s efforts and achievements are deeply appreciated by her workmates and the wider community.
“Her creativity, passion, and kindness never go unnoticed.”
