Celebrating Children’s Week 2025

In celebration of Children’s Week (10-26 October 2025), WA Country Health Service is proud to launch a suite of innovative, child-friendly resources that promote and inform children, families, communities, and staff about children’s rights in health care. This initiative aligns with the national theme— “Everyone should know about children’s rights!”
The messaging, design and format of the resources were shaped by the voices and creativity of children and young people across regional WA through extensive consultation and engagement.
WA Country Health Service Chief Executive Jeff Moffet said these resources reflect our commitment as a proud child safe organisation to creating the environments where children feel safe, respected and heard.
“The insights from kids and teens in country WA were invaluable in ensuring the materials are relevant and engaging,” Mr Moffet said.
The artwork featured on the posters, feedback forms and dedicated web page are selected entries in an art competition that asked country kids what ‘health’ means to them.
The resources include both child and teen versions of the following:
- Health care rights
- Consumer feedback forms
- WA Country Health Service Statement of Commitment for Children
- WA Country Health Service Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy
A dedicated webpage for children and teens now provides access to these resources and other youth-focused content.
The resources also support Australia’s obligations under the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Charter on the Rights of Children and Young People in Health Care Services.
“A heartfelt thank you to the communities who welcomed us and to the staff who made time to truly listen to young voices,” Mr Moffet said.
