Esperance Cardiac Rehab team turns hard work into fun
The Cardiac Rehabilitation team at Esperance Health Campus are positively beaming after receiving glowing feedback from a patient.
Physiotherapists Kira, Kendall and Ellie, and Allied Health Assistant Mel were acknowledged for providing safe and supportive care while making the experience fun and empowering.
The patient took to Care Opinion to praise the team for their hard work and for making the rehabilitation program engaging, going so far as to describe staff as “effervescent”.
Physiotherapist Kira said the addition of cardiac rehabilitation to Esperance Health Campus services has allowed many Esperance locals to feel more equipped to undertake exercise in a supported environment.
“It’s particularly important that patients who have had recent cardiac health events, diagnoses and procedures feel safe to engage in physical activity,” Kira said.
A/District Director South East Coastal Deryck Lykke said he was very proud of the team and the calibre of care they offer community members.
“The team is not only professional, but empathic to the needs of patients recovering from cardiac events,” Deryck said.
“This includes providing individualised, tailored care to patients within group-based settings.”
A/Allied Health Manager Coastal Ellen Leske said the feedback reflected the team’s commitment to patient-centred care and the positive impact it has on the wider community.
“Positive feedback highlights the program’s impact and value to our Esperance community,” Ellen said.
“Our Cardiac Rehabilitation program will continue to support participants to improve their health and recovery following a cardiac event.”
