With a strong focus on patient care and support, the team at Bunbury Regional Hospital’s Diabetes Education Clinic, are making a real difference for patients when they need it most.

Recently, the team received excellent feedback from a patient who praised the “amazing care” and support they provided during a stressful time.

The newly diagnosed diabetes patient presented to Bunbury Regional Hospital recently when their glucose levels became high.

There, they met with credentialled Diabetes Educator Emma and Senior Dietitian Leanne whose care went above and beyond for the patient. The patient commended the team for helping them through their care journey.

“Emma has helped me through my recent diagnosis of diabetes, and I think she’s doing a wonderful job,” the patient said.

“The diabetic team were amazing, and they sent me to their clinic and outpatients, where I saw Emma.

“She is just amazing, absolutely amazing.”

“The dietitian team came and saw me with Emma and gave me advice on what to eat, and I really want them to know how good they are,” the patient shared.

“I was so stressed out and they were wonderful.”

This isn’t the patients first experience with Bunbury Regional Hospital though. Having attended the hospital for more than four years as part of her cancer care, she says the level of support has always been exceptional.

“Bunbury Hospital do an amazing job.

“I’ve been dealing with them for over four years, and longer with my cancer diagnosis, and I cannot fault them one bit,” they added.

Senior Dietitian Leanne reflected on the positive feedback her and Emma received - highlighting the ongoing commitment to delivering patient centered care.

“It was lovely to read the patient feedback about their experience.

“As a team, we work hard to ensure patients have a smooth transition - from being seen in hospital, to follow up care with the outpatient diabetes team – we support diabetes services close to home.”
