Program overview
Background
In August 2009, an innovative $38.244 million, five-year partnership was announced between the State Government's Royalties for Regions scheme, the WA Country Health Service (WACHS) and the WA Chamber of Minerals and Energy's Pilbara Industry's Community Council (PICC).
The WACHS-PICC Pilbara Health Initiative partnership's goal is to improve and enhance health services in the Pilbara. This initiative was developed in response to the extraordinary resource sector development in the region and the associated swell in population that has increased the demand for key services, particularly in health.
The industry members in the PICC are:

- Chevron Australia Pty Ltd
- North West Shelf Venture
- Rio Tinto Iron Ore
