Northam Health Service

Northam Health Service is located in the Wheatbelt approximately 98 kms from Perth, and is equipped with 28 acute inpatient beds, 12 sub-acute inpatient beds and 22 same day beds/chairs (day surgery, chemotherapy and renal).

Services provided by Northam Health Service include:

  • 24/7 Emergency Department
  • Acute medical services
  • Surgical services
  • Sub-acute services – inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation
  • Cancer care
  • Palliative care
  • Outpatients and post-acute services, including wound management, chemotherapy and renal dialysis
  • Medical imaging including x-ray, ultrasound, computerized tomography (CT) and Orthopantomogram (OPG)
  • Patient Assisted Travel Scheme (PATS) regional service
  • Pathology services, provided by PathWest

A range of specialist services visit the Northam Health Service.  All specialist appointments require a referral form from a general practitioner.  For dates of the visiting specialists please contact Day Surgery Clerk on 08 9690 1375.

Avon Valley (Northam) Midwifery Group Practice

Northam Health Service offers services via the Avon Valley (Northam) Midwifery Group Practice (MGP), providing midwifery continuity of care for women in the Central Wheatbelt districts, including birthing for low risk pregnancies and shared antenatal and postnatal care for women with complicated pregnancies.
