Nominations gearing up for next Rural Health Excellence Awards
Nominations for the 2024 Rural Health Excellence Awards are now open – a chance to recognise outstanding rural health professionals.
WA Country Health Service (WACHS), in partnership with Rural Health West, play host to the Rural Health Excellence Awards each year. It’s an opportunity to acknowledge a healthcare champion and shine a light on the outstanding contributions they make across country WA.
In 2023, nine out of 13 categories – including the Chairman’s Award – were won by WACHS staff.
WA Country Health Service’s Acting Chief Operating Officer Sean Conlan said it was important to celebrate the contributions regional healthcare workers make across nursing, midwifery, leadership, community, allied health, specialist and general practice.
“Every day across our 2.5 million square kilometre patch, our remarkable healthcare teams make outstanding contributions to improving health outcomes for the communities in which they live and work.
“These awards are a fantastic opportunity to show our immense appreciation.”
This year also marks the introduction of a new award category, Aboriginal Health Professional of the Year.
Healthcare professionals can be nominated by their peers, colleagues, and communities across nine categories including:
- Aboriginal Health Professional of the Year.
- Allied Health Professional of the Year
