Community and child development come first for Kirsten Bosich
South West Community Health Manager Kirsten Bosich has been named as a finalist in the WA Rural Health Excellence Awards.
Kirsten, who has worked in the South West for close to 25 years, said she originally intended to stay for just 12 months.
“I quickly learnt that the lifestyle, work opportunities and environment to raise my family was a once in a life opportunity,” Kristen told us.
Given Kirsten’s passion and commitment to growing WA Country Health Service’s (WACHS) South West Child Development Service, it’s no surprise that she was nominated in the Clinical Leader of the Year category.
By supporting her team to think creatively, the South West Child Development Service is helping improve the health outcomes of our communities through the development of flexible service pathways.
Kirsten and the team have been the driving force behind the expansion of developmental paediatrician services in the region, as well as ear, nose and throat outpatient services.
Unsurprisingly, Kirsten is highly respected by her peers and grateful for her nomination.
“It is an honour to be nominated by my peers, but this recognition belongs to my entire team,” she said.
“Our team is focused on positive outcomes for the children and families we provide a service to.
“Being a leader in such a passionate, dedicated, and hardworking group of people makes my job easy.”
Well done Kristen and good luck to all our finalists.
