WA Excellence in Allied Health Awards - Congratulations to country health finalists
The finalists have been announced for the inaugural WA Excellence in Allied Health Awards.
WA Country Health Service (WACHS) has close to 1,000 allied health professionals working in country WA, and as a key part of WACHS' multidisciplinary approach to country care, each individual plays an important part in achieving positive health outcomes for our communities.Their contribution towards shaping the health and wellbeing of rural and remote residents deserves to be recognised, and WACHS is proud to be involved in celebrating those contributions as a silver sponsor of these awards.
Congratulations to Dimple Bathla and Denise Lou who have both been named finalists in the Allied Health Professional of the Year category.
Dimple Bathla is a Senior Mental Health Professional at the Midwest Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service. A longstanding member of the Geraldton team, Dimple's well-known for providing outstanding service to young people and their families in the Midwest. With her open and warm approach to care, as well as her dedication to lifelong learning, Dimple's nomination will come as no surprise to colleagues and clients alike.
Denise Lou is a Senior Podiatrist in Kununurra. A relative newcomer to the North West, Denise made the move from Singapore last year to support patients at Kununurra’s high risk foot clinic. Denise takes a collaborative approach to patient-centre care, working with nursing and home care teams to streamline access to services. Denise is known for going above and beyond for her patients, making sure they feel informed and fully supported while navigating the health system.

The winners will be announced at a gala event on Thursday 10 October – including the winner of the Lifetime Achievement Honour recognising an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to allied healthcare in Western Australia throughout their career.
