Renovated Bruce Rock nurses accommodation a welcome addition
Nurses working at WA Country Health Service’s (WACHS) Bruce Rock Memorial Health Service have a fresh new space to call a home away from home with the organisation welcoming the first occupants of newly renovated staff quarters earlier this month.
Now with six spacious rooms with ensuites and living areas, the aim of the design was to ensure the spaces were modern and bright to create a relaxing environment to unwind. There are also shared dining areas to promote social connection and engagement.
Eastern Wheatbelt Operations Manager Jacinta Herbert said the accommodation was providing a warm and relaxing environment for the hardworking staff.
“Our hardworking staff play an important role in delivering care to Bruce Rock and surrounding communities.
“We know how important it is for them to have a welcoming space to come back to after their shifts – especially if this is their home away from home,” she said.
“The new accommodation will provide them with a relaxing space, and we’ve already had positive feedback from staff who’ve told us how excited they are to move in.”
“On top of that, Memorial House has an important historical link for the community, so it’s been very exciting to be able to continue to use the original hospital site as part of the health service’s footprint,” she added.
