Super solution as children’s charity inspires strength through imagination

Visitors to Broome Health Campus could be forgiven for thinking they’d stepped into the multiverse, with daily sightings of young superheroes being reported throughout the hospital.
Captain America, Captain Marvel and Spider-Man have all been spotted – and their superpowers are helping sick children channel their own strength and courage during their toughest battles.
It’s all thanks to not-for-profit charity Supertee, which donates ‘fun-ctional’ medical garments to children’s hospitals, respite centres and paediatric wards nationwide.
Broome Paediatrics Clinical Nurse Manager Erika Clarkson-Williams said the thoughtful gesture was putting smiles on the faces of staff, patients and their families.
“It brings us so much joy to hand out these Supertees and witness the delight and excitement on the children’s faces when they see the fun, empowering designs,” Erika said.
“Beyond their visual appeal, the shirts are incredibly practical, which makes medical care easier and more comfortable for both staff and patients.
“We've received great feedback from our nursing and medical teams, who appreciate how the design supports smoother procedures, reduces the need for physical handling, and helps ease anxiety during care.”
The award-winning hospital gowns inspire strength through imagination and are MRI and PET Scan friendly with shoulder and side easy-access panels.
Broome Health Campus has been receiving regular Supertee deliveries since April 2024, with the new Marvel range proving a hit along with the popular ballerina and space commander-themed editions.
“It’s a truly super solution – the kids absolutely love them,” Erika said.
“The nursing team would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Supertee.”
Since its launch in 2018, Supertee has distributed more than 25,000 garments to children at over 90 hospitals throughout Australia.
