Regional Voices Centre Stage for International Day of People with Disability
People living with disability in regional Western Australia face unique challenges and demonstrate remarkable resilience.
To mark the 2025 International Day of People with Disability, WA Country Health Service is hosting a public event that shines a light on these lived experiences.

Jaimen HudsonA renowned aerial photographer and wildlife cinematographer from Esperance. After a motorbike accident at 17 left him with quadriplegia, Jaimen forged a remarkable career capturing coastal and marine wildlife imagery. His videos have amassed over 350 million views, and his life story was the subject of the feature documentary From Sky to Sea. |

Naomi LakeAn author, disability advocate, performer and public speaker based in Albany. Naomi has written three children’s books featuring Harmony the Forgetful Hen and was commissioned by Carers WA to write her life story for the “disable the label” project. A Health Ambassador for Down Syndrome Australia, Naomi has shared her story on international stages, including the United Nations' 13th World Down Syndrome Day Conference in New York in 2024. |

Sandra DannA long-time advocate for inclusion and respected radio presenter from the Kimberley. Born with congenital glaucoma, Sandy draws on a lifetime of lived experience to champion accessibility and representation. With over 30 years in journalism and broadcasting, she’s a trusted voice in the Kimberley-Pilbara and a passionate advocate for disability awareness in regional communities. |
