Warren Health Service welcomes newest registered nurse
L-R: Robyn Turner (Midwifery Group Practice Clinical Midwife), Justine Kelly (Director of Nursing / Health Service Manager Warren Blackwood Health Service) and Lilli Edwards (Registered Nurse).
The team at Warren Health Service are doing their bit to ‘grow our own’, with local graduate Lilli Edwards recently becoming the hospital’s newest registered nurse.
Born and raised in Manjimup, Lilli started her new role on 6 January after working for a year as a Nursing Assistant on the hospital’s General Ward and completing her studies through Edith Cowan University.
Lilli has been fortunate to work alongside her aunty, Clinical Midwife Robyn Turner, and will in March transfer to Pemberton Hospital to commence her first three-month rotation through the GradConnect program.
After finishing at Pemberton Hospital, she’ll return to Warren Health Service before undertaking a final six-month rotation at Bunbury Regional Hospital.
Lilli said she was loving the new role and looking forward to gaining further valuable experience in a variety of rural clinical settings.
“Working as a Registered Nurse has been a really great experience so far – all the staff are welcoming and amazing at helping me in my new learning journey,” she said.
“I love working in country healthcare as I grew up in the country and I have lived in Manjimup most of my life.
“I’ve also lived in Broome and did my last nursing placement in Exmouth Emergency Department, so travelling to different rural and remote communities is my goal in the next few years once I gain more experience.”
GradConnect is a centralised online recruitment process that enables enrolled nurses, registered nurses and midwives access to employment opportunities through graduate, or transition to practice, programs throughout WA.
WA Country Health Service will be offering graduate positions through the 2026 program, with applications set to open on 23 February.
